Value Place Hotel, Sun Prairie
On December 4th, 2007, Sun Prairie's Alders rejected Value Place's precise implementation plan request to build a Value Place Hotel in the Smith’s Crossing. Comments and questions between opponents and proponents lasted for ninty minutes and the alders voted unanimously to reject the November 27th recommendation of the Sun Prairie Plan Commission to approve.
Sun Prairie's Smith's Crossing may be getting a new addition to their area. Value Place, an "Extened Stay" hotel has proposed a $3.5 million, 121 room hotel. The location is near the intersection of Highway 151 and Highway C.
The Sun Prairie Plan Commision is scheduled to hear the plan presentation by the Wichita Kansas company on November 27th, 2007. If the new plan is approved, this will be Value Place's fist project in Wisconsin. Sites in Milwaukee are also being considered. Value Place has 70 other locations in 18 differnet states. It plans to build 650 hotels in the next five years.
The location of the new Value Place would be 2552 Jenny Wren Trail in the Smith's Crossing development. The hotel would have three room plans with rates starting at $169.
